The National Infantry Rifle (MPT-76), produced without any technical support from abroad, and using national resources only, has passed all of the weighted 42 NATO standard tests including cold and hot air, sand, rain and mud tests. At temperatures between -40° and 65° C, under the threat of pressurized water, and even in mud, the rifle can fire 650 shots per minute trouble-free. The rifle has a frame weight of 4.1 kg and an effective range of up to 600 meters. The MPT-76 rifle uses bullets with a diameter of 7.62 mm and has a barrel with a lifespan up to 12,000 shots. Receiving interest in foreign markets, 34.500 pieces of the national rifle were produced by different companies in 2017 and will be delivered to the Turkish Armed Forces.
