9 From the Turkish Defence Industry Summit, Presidency of the Republic of Turkey, Beştepe People’s Convention and Culture Centre, 12 December 2018 The Turkish Defence Industry Summit was organised under the theme of “Global Power Turkey” by the Presidency of Defence Industries under the authority of the Presidency of the Republic of Turkey on 12-13 December 2018 for the first time. All actors within the defence industry gathered for two days. On the first day of the Turkish Defence Industry Summit which was attended by the president Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN, four panel discussions were carried out in addition to the opening session and significant names steering “Land”, “Air”, “Sea” and “Space” sectors gave speeches on “Financing”, “Human Resources”, “Renovation” and “Technology – Innovation – Production”. More than 2,100 local and 200 foreign guests participated on the first day and more than 500 institutions and organisations followed the summit. On the second day, “Visionary Youth” programme which was prepared with the aim of a strong defence industry in the future was introduced.
