114 SHIPBUILDING, REPAIR and MODERNISATION T he mid-life upgrade programme carried out by the Presidency of Defence Industries calls for the maximum use of modern and national technologies. Current TACTICOS combat management system will be modernised with B-SYS, which is a variant of the national system GENESİS, under the partnership between Havelsan-ASELSAN. In addition, TAKS which was developed by ARMERKOM will be implemented on 127mm bow gun. Weapons and sensors on the platform will be replaced by weapon systems produced by the Turkish Defence Industry and integrated with B-SYS. Necessary hardware and software will be developed and the systems will be maintained more easily. The system can be implemented on other platforms easily due to its open architecture structure.
